“You’ll start a business someday.”

A mentor said that to me early in my career. At the time, I dismissed it. Over the years, I kept hearing it. I stayed on the traditional career path, focusing on doing good work and solving what was right in front of me.

Along the way, I noticed a pattern.

In roles where I had the freedom to think creatively and take ownership of systems, things worked—really well. Teams aligned. Progress felt clear and sustainable. Yet in environments where things weren’t working, businesses often chased the wrong solutions—more tools, more noise—while missing what was right in front of them. Poor structure created constant friction, and I felt it, too.

It often felt like a hamster wheel, running in circles. Fixing instead of building. Moving fast, but not forward.

Then I stepped into a dream role at a startup agency, eventually moving into a COO position. There, I built systems from the ground up and saw firsthand what happens when everything aligns. It confirmed the kind of work I’m meant to do.

During a significant life shift where my husband and I left a big city for a smaller, more creative community, the business I helped build began to unravel as key clients struggled under their own internal systems.

That’s when it became clear.

When someone said, “With your experience, you could start our own business,” I finally listened…and I let myself imagine it.

That’s where Savvy Solutionist began.

I’m drawn to building—creating clarity from complexity and systems that genuinely support the people behind the work.

I’ve learned that bad systems don’t just slow organizations down. They limit what people and teams are capable of.
